| Hours Of Hard Work Deserve A Minute Recognition |
| This year the entire COMET
staff has tried to bring to you the students of Grove High School, the best school
news-paper possible. With the help of the teachers, counselors, Mr. Underwood, Mrs. Hanna,
Miss Lowry and students we have succeeded as well as we could. We would like to recognize
each staff member separately: EDITOR-IN-CHIEF-Eddie Reynolds, a staff member for three years. He has willingly dedicated his time to the COMET'S success. ASSOCIATE EDITOR-Patty Sonka, a staff member for three years. She has been the female influence behind Eddie and has devoted time and patience to the project. |
SPORTS EDITOR-Greg Van Dyke-a
four year staff member, has been on the scene reporter at all sports events. SPORTS ASSISTANTS-John Leach and Nancy Flowers (1 year) have been willing and able sports reporters. FEATURES EDITOR-Wendy Schaal (3 years) has searched every corner of her mind for new and catchy ideas for fea-tures stories. FEATURES ASSISTANTS |
ADVERTISING MANAGER -Patsy
McDaniel a three year staff member, has energetically promoted the COMET to the town
merchants in her ad sales. ADVERTISING
ASSISTANTS- REPORTERS-Rita Whitfieid (3 years), Nancy Phelps (5 years), Ann Laird (3 years), and Sarah Dunlap (2 years). These reporters have used all their energy in being where the action was to report on it in the COMET. TYPISTS-Margaret Landrum (1 year), Judy French (1 year), |
and Sheila Norwood (1 year).These three girls have spent many hours typing COMET
articles for the printer. CARTOONIST-Mike Casey (1 year) has added his hilarious and sometimes thought provoking cartoons and quips to the stately COMET. JUNIOR HIGH REPORTERS-Tom Wimberly (2 years) and Amy Clark (1 year) have eagerly reported and written the news from the Junior High. Each staff member excels in ability and character. This is what the staff is made of. We have tried and we have done OUR best. |
