FACTS AND HISTORICAL INFORMATION
FROM THE 1932 ANNUAL
Although the significance is not known, the portrait of
George Washington, over MEMOIRS, as shown in the title heading above, is the
heading for each of the 1932 Memoirs pages.
Many of the pictures in this annual were too small to scan well and some would not scan at all. Especially photos of the clubs and other groups.
THE ORIGIN OF GROVE CLUBS:
Three years ago Mr. Smith came to Grove as principal and with him came the clubs, as well as other new ideas for improvement.

THE ORIGIN OF MANY OF GROVE HIGH'S SPORTS:
The school year 1931-1932 was the first year for boys and girls basketball at Grove.
1931-32 was the third year for boys track.
1931-32 was the second year for boys tennis.
Among the other sports at Grove, in 1931-32, were Interclass basketball and Midget Football and Midget Baseball.
ROYALTY
Mary Stellar Pulley crowned Football Queen for the 1931-32 School Year.
