Claxton was a tackle who believed in holding what he happened to grab, whether it was a foot, leg or neck. His one aim was to make his man bite the dust, and he carried this out. He was always at the right place at the right time, and he had speed needed to make long gains. Claxton was in all the games and his opponents knew it.
