50th REUNION
PLANNING COMMITTEE

IT IS TRUE, ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO
AN END.
The Class of '52 reunion certainly fits that category. Many classmates
remarked the 50th was the best yet and how much they enjoyed the program
and being with everyone. The committee did an outstanding job and certainly deserve
our thanks. Lots of inquiries about members that were unable to attend, you were
truly
missed.
Loads of pictures will be added to
the web site. Ted took pictures at every activity,
even breakfast on Saturday morning. Using his digital camera, the photos were
immediately
available and will be the first to appear.
The group picture will also soon be available for the web site.
In the 'pictures from the Tower'
category, scans were made from:
1943, 44, 45, 46 from Virgil Wall's Towers
1947, 48 from Ras Bilbrey's Towers
1941, 42 and 1951, 52 from other sources
It will take some time to organize
and edit the material. Unlike any of you, the webmaster
for the Grove site is an old man and does not always move too swiftly.
Anybody thinking about the 55th?

LATEST INFORMATION - MAY 3,
2002
by Bill Williams
Well, I guess things are all set up for the big reunion.
The first thing is the dutch-treat supper, no program, at 6 p.m. Friday,
May 17, at Outlaw's Steakhouse on Mineral Wells Avenue. Purely a time for
visiting, swapping photos and lies, etc. We'll have a program booklet to
distribute that includes all of the personal bios from classmates and
information on the Saturday night banquet. The manager said we can stay
'til they close at 10.
On Saturday, anyone who likes can gather at the Kitchen Table Restaurant on
East Wood Street (out near where Uncle Lee's used to be) for breakfast,
again dutch treat. The Heritage Center on North Poplar Street (old Health
Department building) will be open at 1 that afternoon to show its new
exhibit on schools in Henry County. It includes a bunch of old Grove stuff.
We're checking into the possibility of visiting the Grove Tower building,
if anyone's interested.
People can begin gathering at Paris Landing Inn, downstairs in Ellington
Hall, as early as 4:30 p.m. The banquet's at 6, but we wanted to allow
plenty of visiting time.
Nobody has said anything about Sunday morning, but I'm sure if folks wanted
to gather again at the Kitchen Table they're free to do so.
See you at the reunion,
Bill Williams

UPDATE OF 50TH REUNION INFORMATION
By SUE NICHOLS CLARK-WOOLDRIDGE
Sunday, April 21, 2002
I sent out 71 letters and have
received 62 replies. I think that is pretty good for finding people.
(In fact, five I did not hear from live here in this area.) We have 43
classmates coming and
two hope to make it but are not sure yet. We had 17 send regrets but we got updates
for the booklets.
I carried the booklet to the printer
(Bill Williams) last week and the group will meet next week
to put it together. We have an interesting variety of people in our group.
