1952 HAS REUNION
August 7 - 8, 1992

Some 50 members of the Grove High School Class of 1952 and classmates from earlier years held the first class reunion in 15 years in meeting here August 7-8.
An informal cookout and dance on the first evening and a banquet the second were at Best Western Travelers Inn's Lafayette Room, and a breakfast on the second day was at Jim Adams Cafeteria.
With spouces and teachers, some 80 people attended the banquet. Highlights included recognition of class officers and class superlatives by Duane Lacy, Diana Russell and Rex Latimer read letters from absent classmates.
Don Laster gave the invocation and Bill Williams was master of ceremonies.
Margaret Smith Ray of Boise, Idaho, was recognized as coming the farthest. Carolyn Hardin Veltman of Springfield was recognized as having the most grandchildren, 12. They won school key rings contributed by Murray-McKenzie Jewelers, and an art print showing Grove buildings, also from the jewelry store, was won by Bill Johnson of Decatur, Alabama.
Teachers attending the banquet were Ruby Krider, Elizabeth Marshall, Lamar Roberts, and Robert Jelks, accompanied by Mrs. Jelks.
Each classmate received a booklet containing personal histories of each member, a copy of the 1952 graduation program, a memorial to four classmates who have died, and a series of group photographs from seventh grade through high school graduation.
Previous reunions of the class were held in 1967 and 1977.
