Ridgeway's name will go on
Paris Landing State Park Conference Center

 Former State Rep. Don Ridgeway of Paris will be honored during a
special ceremony at 11 a.m. Thursday at Paris Landing State Park. Tennessee State Parks
and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation will dedicate the conference
center there as the L. Don Ridgeway Conference Center."I am indeed proud and humbled that my former colleagues in the state Legislature would honor me in this way," Ridgeway said Tuesday morning from his office in Dresden. "It's a tribute to our community and Paris Landing State Park that needed improvements that were made during my tenure in the Legislature." Ridgeway said he actually learned of the honor earlier this year when Gov. Phil Bredesen and TDEC Commissioner Jim Fyke unveiled a replica of the plaque at the Governor's Luncheon during the World's Biggest Fish Fry. He said the legislation had been sponsored by State Sen. Doug Jackson and State Rep. David Shepherd, both of Dickson County. Ridgeway served for 18 years in the Tennessee House of Representatives, from 1985- 2002, representing citizens from Henry, Benton, Carroll, Dickson, Houston and Stewart counties. A reception will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the conference center with Fyke delivering a welcome at 11:30, followed by remarks by Ridgeway and the unveiling of the plaque. |
