Saturday at Maplewood Cemetery for former Edgewood Street resident Rella Lacy Moody
Thompson of Paris. Gary S. Collier will officiate. Named as pallbearers are Gary, Michael and Tyler Mason, Keith Henager, David Mitchell, Jason Brewer, Ed Tayloe and Crockett Mathis. No visitation is scheduled. Thompson, 97, died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Henry County Medical Center. A Christian County, Ky. native, she was born in Oak Grove on June 6, 1910, a daughter of the late Walter Lee Lacy and Merdie Ethel Bridges Lacy. She was married to Cecil T. Moody, who died in 1976. She later was married to Edward L. Tickle Thompson, who died Oct. 29, 1984. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Paris. She formerly worked as the lunchroom dietitian at Lee School for 15 years and later worked at the Remnant House in Paris. Thompson was a Grove High School and Tolers Business College graduate. She was a civilian employee at a radio factory in Mobile, Ala. during World War II. She leaves a son: Cecil Thomas (Joyce) Moody of Camden; a brother: Lawrence Lacy of California; one grandchild: April Suzanne (Joseph) Jones of Cordova; and a great-grandchild: Tyson Jones of Cordova. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Paris. |
