| Dona Suiter A memorial service is planned at 6 p.m. Thursday at Maplewood Baptist Church in Paris for Dona J. Suiter. Corey Cain, pastor of Maplewood Church, will officiate. No visitation is planned. McEvoy Funeral Home is in charge. Suiter, 90, formerly of Brown Street in Paris, died Monday, June 22, 2009, at Henry County Healthcare Center. The body was cremated. Born Sept. 12, 1918, in Henry County, she was a daughter of the late Granville and Iva Gregson Jackson. Her husband, Laurin A. Suiter Sr., died July 25, 1994. They were married on Oct. 26, 1940. Suiter was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church, a 1938 graduate of Grove High School and attended Austin Peay State University for two years. She worked as a bookkeeper for seven years with the Montgomery County Board of Education. She worked for more than 40 years as a secretary in the insurance business and was a member of the Clarksville Association of Insurance Women. She leaves a son: Laurin A. (Bev) Suiter Jr. of Laurinburg, N.C.; two grandchildren: Laurin A. Suiter III and Tricia S. Dooling; and several nieces and nephews including: Pattie Kellogg, Penny Holmes, Peggy Upchurch, Ann Calhoun, Paul Kellogg, and Ronnie, Jackie and McSwain Jackson, all of Paris. She also was preceded in death by three sisters: Pauline Jackson at age 3, Geanene Kellogg and Della Martin; and four brothers: Robert, McSwain, James and George Jackson. |
