| A graveside service for retired
bank employee and former Paris resident Virginia Atkins Sinclair of Cordova is planned at 2 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers. No visitation is planned. McEvoy Funeral Home is in charge. Sinclair, 85, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at Methodist Hospice in Memphis. Born in Paris on July 16, 1926, she was the daughter of John Thomas Atkins and Cecil Radford Atkins, now both deceased. She was married on Dec. 29, 1951, to William Leslie Sinclair, who died May 16, 1986. Sinclair graduated from Grove High School and attended business college. She worked and retired as a bookkeeper from Paris Federal Savings and Loan in Paris. She had lived in Memphis for the past 25 years. She was a member of Saint Stevens United Methodist Church in Memphis, where she served for several years as her Sunday school’s class president. She leaves Pam (Rick) Yewell, Muz, Denise and Saba Alkahyab, Courtney Schultz, Andrew and Aespen Houston and Briley Reaves, Randy, Brayden, Caegan and Corbin Yewell, all of Memphis. Memorials may be made to World Wildlife Fund, any Native American charity or to the humane society of the donor’s choice. |
