A memorial service for Paris native Sarah Orr Morrow of Ormond Beach, Fla., was conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Daytona Beach, Fla., where she taught Sunday school for 54 years.

The body was cremated.

Allen Summerhill Funeral Home in Deland, Fla., was in charge.

Morrow, 88, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, according to information published in the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

Born March 15, 1920, in Paris, she was the daughter of Augustus and Eunice May Williams Orr, both deceased.

Her husband of 55 years, Alfred Morrow, preceded her in death. After meeting at Camp Tyson, they were married on July 4, 1942.

They moved to Daytona Beach in 1948. She was a homemaker and helped her husband at a pharmacy there.

She leaves a son: Steve (Donna) Morrow of Killen, Ala.; two daughters: Florence (Verl) Beebe of Deland and Charlotte (Sam) Dunlap of Savannah, Ga.;

Five grandchildren: Emily Morrow Whittle, Sarah Dunlap Emmet and Samuel Riley Dunlap III, all of Atlanta, Meredith Morrow McClanahan of Killen and Elizabeth Beebe Bukhari of New York City; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 555 W. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach 32174.

Sarah Orr Morrow, 88, Ormond Beach, passed away Friday, January 23, 2009. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 26, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach.

Sarah was born March 15, 1920, in Paris, Tennessee to Augustus Orr and Eunice May Williams. She attended Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. July 4, 1942, she married Alfred Morrow after meeting him at Camp Tyson, Paris, Tennessee. They moved to Daytona Beach in 1948.

She was a homemaker until she began helping her husband, Al, at Lewis Pharmacy on Seabreeze Boulevard. She enjoyed visiting her family, traveling, gardening, cooking, and most of all walking on the beach. She was a ray of sunshine even on cloudy days.

She thought her family was the cat's meow. She served as PTA President at Lenox Avenue School and was in the Garden Club. She was very active in the First Baptist Church teaching Sunday School there for 54 years touching the lives of all she taught. She was preceded in death by Alfred Morrow, her husband of 55 years.

She is survived by her son, Steve (Donna) Morrow of Killen, Alabama; her daughters, Florence (Verl) Beebe of DeLand, Florida;Charlotte (Sam) Dunlap of Savannah, Georgia; her grandchildren, Emily Morrow Whittle of Atlanta, Georgia, Meredith Morrow McClanahan of Killen, Alabama, Elizabeth Beebe Bukhari of New York, New York, Sarah Dunlap Emmet of Atlanta, Georgia, Samuel Riley Dunlap III of Atlanta, Georgia; and five great-grandchildren.
