| The funeral service for
longtime BellSouth employee Lowell Thomas McGuire of Paris was planned at 2 p.m. today at
Ridgeway Funeral Home. James E. Bittner and Mike Wimberley were to officiate. Entombment was to follow in Rose Lawn Mausoleum. Chosen as pallbearers were Randy Reid, David Wilson, Charles VanDyke, David Laws, Johnny Ellis and Paul Villaflor. Visitation was Sunday and today. McGuire, 74, died Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Henry County Medical Center. Born Sept. 6, 1932, in Paris, he was a son of William and Ruby Stuber McGuire, now both deceased. He was married on July 7, 1956, to the former Peggy Jean VanDyke, who died Sept. 22, 2000. McGuire worked for 35 years for BellSouth as a lineman. He was member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Telephone Pioneers. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He leaves one son: Larry (Carolyn) McGuire of Camden; a brother: John W. (Joan) McGuire of Paris; five grandchildren: Lisa Laws of Paris, Tara McGuire of McKenzie, Tina Ellis of Bruceton, Teddy Craig of Hollow Rock and Darrell Craig of Big Sandy; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. |
