John Perry Johnson ~ Obituary

A memorial service for John Perry Johnson Sr., 75, will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home. Larry Craig and Tim Cook will officiate the service.

Members of the Friendship Sunday school class of Jones Chapel Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Johnson passed away at his residence on Friday, May 16, 2008.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife Ethel Wallace Johnson whom he married on June 12, 1981. He was a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Air Force and Army National Guard.

He formerly owned and operated Johnson’s TV. He last worked at the Henry Farmers Co-op as an attendant at the gas station.

In addition to his wife, he leaves three children: Russell Blaine Johnson and wife Jill of Paris, Andrea Garner and husband Kevin of Lexington, Misty Brooks and husband Sonny of McKenzie; one sister: Norma Johnson Franks of Salter Path, N.C. Nine grandchildren also survive him.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents: John H. “Stormy” Johnson and Mamie A. Doty Johnson Witt; a son: John Perry Johnson Jr.; a daughter: Vivian Gail Johnson; and a brother: Terry Gregson.

Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon until the service at 3 p.m. Thursday.
