Hudgins The funeral service for Henry County Monument Works designer Johnny Hudgins of Paris was conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Roger Banks and Don Williams officiated. Burial followed in Hillcrest Cemetery. Chosen as pallbearers were Robert Bubba Hudgins, Ernest Craig, Larry Hudgins, Ronnie Jackson, Jerry Merrell, Marge Barrows, David Travis and Keith Hudgins. Honorary pallbearers were friends at Jacks Pool Room. Visitation was Saturday and Sunday. Hudgins, 63, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at his residence. Born in Paris on April 5, 1944, he was a son of the late Robert Myron Hudgins and Pearl Fowler Hudgins. His wife Hazel Whitworth Hudgins died June 24, 1986. Hudgins was a 1963 graduate of Grove High School. He worked as a designer at Henry County Monument Works for 35 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He leaves a stepdaughter: Angela (Jim) Conwell of Brighton, Mich.; a sister: Nellie Faye Toppy Amundsen of Wentworth, S.D.; two stepgrandchildren: Anne and James Conwell of Brighton; special friends: Sue Odom and family; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He also was preceded in death by a sister: Louise Merrell; and two brothers: Willie Joe Hudgins and Floyd Myron Hudgins. Memorials may be made to the Henry County Humane Society. |
