A service for former Paris resi-
dent Robert Samuel Holcomb of
Baton Rouge, La., was conducted
Saturday at Rabenhorst Funeral
Home in Baton Rouge.

Burial followed in Resthaven Gar-
dens of Memory in Baton Rouge.

Holcomb, 70, died unexpectedly
at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31,
2003, at his residence.

Locally, he leaves two sisters:
Carol Evans and Joyce Crutcher,
both of Paris.

Born Oct. 24, 1933, in St. Louis,
he was a son of R.C. "Clyde" Hol-
comb and Ethel Holcomb, both
deceased.

His wife, the former Ann Vaughn,


also preceded him in death.

Holcomb moved from Paris to
Baton Rouge in the early 1960s,
where he worked for Uniroyal
Chemical for 33 years until retiring
in 1995.

A U.S. Army veteran, he served
as a sergeant in the Korean War. He
also was a member of Paris Masonic
Lodge 108.

He also leaves four daughters:
Cathy Kleinpeter, Lynn McCain,
Nancy Sonier and Mary Beth Malo-
ne, all of Baton Rouge;
One brother: Donald Holcomb of
Houston; and several grandchildren
and great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St.
Jude Children's Hospital, P.O. Box
50, Memphis 38101-9929.
