| Henry County native and former
bookkeeper Shirley Fay Greene, 74, of Pulaski died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010,
at National Healthcare in Pulaski. The body was cremated. A memorial service is planned at 3 p.m. Sunday at Lynnville (Tenn.) United Methodist Church in Giles County, where she was a member. The Revs. Joy Edwards and Steve VanHooser will officiate. Burial is planned at 1 p.m. Sept. 18 in Memorial Cemetery in Paris. No visitation is scheduled. McEvoy Funeral Home is in charge. Born Dec. 28, 1935, in Henry County, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Lillie Byrd Cox. She was married on Feb. 7, 1959, to Harold D. Greene, who died Sept. 28, 2000. Greene attended Andrew Jackson Business School. She formerly worked as a bookkeeper for area stores and as a receiving clerk for a grocery. She leaves a daughter, Rhonda (John) Warren of Hermitage; a son, Stephen (Tami) Greene of Pulaski; a brother, Aubrey Cox of Paris; a sister-in-law, Marilla Cox of Mansfield; three grandchildren: McKenzie Greene of Pulaski and Brad and Aubree Warren, both of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Darleen Greene in infancy; a sister, Clara Bow Neal; and two brothers, Jesse and Tommy Cox. |
