DAN KING Class of 1950 OBITUARY |
| Dan King Henry County Native Thomas Daniel King, 72, of Louisville, Ky. died Monday, January 20, 2003, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. Locally, he leaves a sister; Carolyn Bullen; and a uncle: Charles "Chick" King, both of Paris. Services will be at noon Thursday at Owen Funeral Home in Louisville. Burial will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation was planned from 4-9 p.m. today and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Born in Paris he was the son of the late Lawrence and Pearl Pierce King. His wife of 46 years, the former Norma Jean Ashlock, survives. King was a retired coach. A 1950 graduate of Grove High School, he earned his bachelors and masters degrees fromWestern Kentucky University at Bowling Green. He was a member of the Henry County Sports Hall of Fame and the Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame. He also leaves one son: Jeff (Gloria) King of Crestwood, Ky. Two brothers: Robert "Bobby" King of Russell Springs, Ky. and Wayne King of Clearwater, Florida; One sister: Betty Holcomb of Richmond, Texas; and two grandchildren: Phillip and Remsing King. He also was preceded in death by twin brothers, Horace and Morris King. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. |
