| Beloved husband, father, grandfather and
friend, Charles Larry Dale of Gulfport, Miss., went to be with his Lord and Savior on
March 3. He was born to John and Mildred Dale in Paris on May 31, 1939, and he graduated from Memphis State University in 1957. Larry joined the Air Force and, while stationed in Biloxi, Miss., met his loving wife, Opal Richardson. They were married in November 1963. Larry had a distinguished 20-year career in the Air Force, rising to the rank of lieutenant colonel with the Strategic Air Command. After his retirement, Larry and Opal moved to Gulfport, and Larry spent 23 years in the banking industry with Magnolia Federal, Union Planters and Regions. Larry also was a member and elder of the Orange Grove Church of Christ in Gulfport. Larry is survived by his wife Opal; son Russ Dale and wife Kristina Dale of Fort Worth, Texas; and son Alan Dale and wife Marcy Dale of Richardson, Texas. Grandchildren include Connor Dale, Cassie Dale, Ashton Dale, Allison Dale and Trey Dale. He is also survived by his two brothers, Kenneth Dale of Fort Worth and John Dale of Murray. The funeral was scheduled at Bradford-OKeefes ONeal Road location in Gulfport at 11 a.m. today. Visitation started at 9 a.m. Larry was to be interred at Biloxi (Miss.) National Cemetery, with full military honors at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either the Orange Grove Church of Christ building fund, P.O. Box 2456, Gulfport, Miss. 39505, or to the Arthritis Foundation, www.arthritis.org. |
