| A graveside service was scheduled
at 2 p.m. today in Maplewood Cemetery for Amy Martin Brummitt of Paris. Rob Martin, pastor of First United Methodist Church, where Brummitt was a member and Sunday school teacher, was to officiate. Family and McEvoy Funeral Home staff members were chosen as pallbearers. Visitation was set from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. today at McEvoy Funeral Home. Brummitt, 74, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home in Canton, N.C. Born March 20, 1937, in Paris, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Dorothy Ward Martin. Brummitt graduated from Grove High School. She was named to Outstanding Young Women of America and was a Cub Scout leader. She worked for Mitchum Company for 8-1/2 years; Holley carburetor plant for 14-1/2 years; and was a sitter for the elderly for 12 years. A family member said she enjoyed gospel music. She leaves one daughter: Amy Karen Brummitt of Ashland City; one son: Bryant Brummitt III of Canton; and a special friend: Joseph Lowe of Paris. She also was preceded in death by a brother: Gene Martin. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 25, Paris. |
